What will we work on?
- Who decides what you can say online? Freedom of expression and content moderation.
- Do your data really belong to you? Privacy and personal data protection.
- Can an algorithm discriminate? Artificial intelligence and algorithmic systems.
- Where does criticism end and violence begin? Discrimination and violence online.
- How does technology affect the rights of migrants and refugees?
- Security or freedom? The role of states, international organisations and private actors in shaping standards of individual protection.
How do the classes work?
Classes are interactive: introductory lectures, seminars, workshops and project work in international teams. We use challenge-based learning: we start with a real problem and end with practical recommendations that you develop yourself.
Who runs the project?
The project is a joint initiative of the University of Łódź and the University of Zagreb. On the Łódź side it is run by the Department of Public International Law and International Relations at the Faculty of Law and Administration, together with the Lodz Cyber Hub. It was selected as one of the winning projects of the first edition of the UNIC VIP call, for 2025 to 2027.
