Eligibility criteria
The competition is open to early-career researchers of the University of Lodz who meet the following requirements:
- are employed on permanent academic or academic-teaching contracts.
- hold a PhD degree awarded no earlier than seven years before the announcement of the competition (in accordance with the definition of an early-career researcher under the Polish Law on Higher Education and Science).
Participation benefits
Participation in the UniLodz Impact competition offers a range of benefits, including:
- Academic career development: an opportunity to carry out a research stay lasting from 6 to 12 weeks at a research centre ranked among the top 300 universities worldwide (as per QS World University Rankings, Times Higher Education, or Shanghai Ranking).
- Financial support: a grant of up to PLN 40,000 to cover travel and accommodation expenses.
- Knowledge and experience transfer: the chance to absorb and implement best practices and standards in research and organisational work from leading international research institutions.
- Contribution to the development of the University of Lodz: direct impact on enhancing the quality of research and improving the operation of the university.
- Retention of salary: possibility to retain the salary under the existing employment contract with the University of Lodz during the research stay, subject to the Rector’s approval.
Aplication process
In the current edition of the competition, a maximum of three grants will be awarded, one in each of the following areas:
- Humanities
- Social Sciences
- Exact Sciences
The trip abroad should take place between 1 January and 30 September 2026.
Applications should be submitted by completing the attached MS Forms application form available from 16 June to 31 October 2025.All required certificates and documents should be attached as scans to the aforementioned form.
