Contemporary challenges related to working conditions in the maritime shipping sector will be the main theme of the presentation. The lecture will address, among other things, shortcomings in legal regulations, difficulties in their effective enforcement, the limited bargaining power of employees, and the growing concentration of capital in the shipping industry. Particular attention will be paid to the influence of shipowners on working conditions and the market mechanisms shaping labour relations in the sector.

The event will provide an excellent opportunity for in-depth reflection on the functioning of the global labour market and the role of international regulations in ensuring employment standards.

The lecture will be conducted in English and will take place on 28 May 2026 at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Room of the Faculty of Law and Administration, University of Lodz (Kopcińskiego 8/12, Łódź).

Participation in the event requires prior registration via the online form.

The registration deadline is 21 May 2026.
